WhatsApp new status feature rolling out in new update. Check here. (HT_PRINT)

Meta owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has recently introduced a bunch of new features for iOS and one of them is a new status feature that will let users view status from profile. The feature is already available on Facebook and now Meta is bringing it to the messaging platform. As of now, you will have to click on a separate Status section to view the same. However, after the new feature will be rolled out, users will get to see the status symbol in the profile picture of others. It will appear as a circle in green or blue colour, just like it appears on Facebook or in Instagram stories.

Further, the app is also bringing a new status reaction feature for iOS users that will let them react to a Status by sending a reaction, just like we react to a Story on Instagram.Additionally, the latest update is also bringing the much-awaited undo “delete for me” option.

That's not all, WhatsApp has also rolled out Facebook's Bitmoji-like Avatars for selected beta users. The feature is reportedly available in the latest beta update on Android – 2.22.23.9 and the app is soon expected to offer this feature to the public.

Avatars first came to Facebook's News Feed and the Messenger app and later,it was rolled out in the comment section as well in 2020, followed by in stories. According to the report by WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently working on a feature called avatar profile photo enabling users to set a personalized avatar as their profile image. However, the feature is currently under development and will be released in a future update of WhatsApp for Android, iOS, and Desktop.

The WhatsApp development tracker has even shared some screenshots of the same showcasing how to customise and select an avatar, choose a backdrop colour, and establish an avatar as a profile photo.
