Till now, the mini-version of YouTube videos, basically known as the YouTube Shorts feature is available on smartphones only. But this new update will make your day if you are an avid YouTube content consumer who likes to experience it on a bigger screen. Because YouTube is now bringing the YouTube Shorts to Desktops and tablets too. Yes, your mini version of YouTube videos will be available on these platforms too. Well, when exactly this will happen is still unknown. But you can hope for the best! Maybe over the next few weeks. But unfortunately, it seems like smart TVs will still need to wait to experience the YouTube Shorts content and have to manage with normal YouTube videos only.

This will undoubtedly be good news for those users who like to consume video-streaming app content on a larger screen instead of settling for the tiny smartphone displays. Though, it is still not known how YouTube will implement the YouTube Shorts interface for desktops and tablets. On smartphones, YouTube has a separate section for Shorts from the rest of the options to browse videos. Likewise, desktop users are expected to get a dedicated section for Shorts videos which will have all the short videos in one place.

There's something new in YouTube Shorts!

Apart from that, YouTube Shorts has got another feature for creators! It will allow all the YouTube content creators to cut shorter videos from their longer ones. Not just that but the new upgraded features will allow them to choose from a pool of already available options. Even a few chunks of a whole large video ranging from one to five seconds, on eligible videos for YouTube Shorts can be used in both video and audio forms.

YouTube on its help page explains that “You can create a Short using a song from our library or the original audio from many other short and long-form videos. Shorts made with sampled audio are attributed back to the source creator's original video.”

You need to note that not all the videos are available to make it into YouTube Shorts format because of the copyright issues.
