If you still on Twitter after the controversial Elon Musk takeover, you must have stumbled upon the #JioDown trend. At first glance, it seemed as if Reliance Jio's mobile service may have been hit across the country and people taking to Twitter let the community know. However, go through the series of tweets made by users and it is easy to see no reference to a downtime on Reliance Jio's network. In fact, it is related to a Jio Cinema that made a lot of FIFA fans angry during the world cup match.

This year, Jio Cinema gained the rights to stream the FIFA World Cup matches live in India. However, the first football match livestream was plagued by several streaming issues. Viewers complained of jitters and stutters, and pauses during crucial stages of the match. The streaming was eventually halted due to a technical issue and fans were left enraged with the poor service. Many even blamed FIFA for not giving the broadcasting rights to Star and Sony network.

Jio Cinema was down during FIFA World Cup match

With the match halted, it left many fans angry. Most of them took to Twitter to vent out their frustration and blame Jio for not doing a good enough job. Jio Cinema later apologies to the viewers in a separate tweet, requesting viewers to update the app for fixing the issue.

“We are continuously working to give you a great experience. Please upgrade your app to the latest version to enjoy #FIFAWorldCupQatar2022. Apologies for any inconvenience," said the tweet.

However, the issue still doesn't seem to have gone away and there are complaints on Twitter from users who have the app installed on their smart TVs. Viewers are even facing issues while streaming on their PCs.

“At 300 Mbps broadband connection, the picture is getting stuck again & again. It is a very bad experience. Now even @SonyLIV seems superb in comparison to this . It's gonna be a horrifying experience for Indian fans. Get ready to be disappointed," said one user after the update was rolled out.

Another user suggested it is better to get a paid subscription for catching the updates from Voot. “Can't even watch 1 min. I subscribed to voot for the matches. I don't mind paying instead of this. Very disappointed," wrote a viewer.

JioCinema FIFA streaming bug: How to fix

Some users have suggested that the JioCinema app's streaming bug can be bypassed with a different multicam view. It is said that the streaming bug can be bypassed with the “extended Stadium Feed” from the Multicam option. One user also says that the Cable Cam feed is good and provides a cool perspective.
