OkCupid launches Stacks to make it easier for you to find your match

The OkCupid dating up is getting a redesign and will soon be seen with new icons and a new matching system called Stacks. Stacks basically consolidates multiple discovery methods into one making it easier for you to find the type of person you are looking for.

The new Stacks discovery experience shows you profiles of people in a more focused and thoughtful way and lets you choose through a series of new categories. The categories that users will get to see include Recommended, Question Pros, Online, Nearby, New People (this is only for the paid users on OkCupid), Popular (also for paid users) and Match % (this feature is coming soon).

Users can tap on each category and look through profiles to find someone they'd like to date.

OkCupid says that the Question Pros Stack is an industry first and it recognises higher-intent daters who, as per research, are more like to be interested in looking for a meaningful connection.

This is based on the logic that answering more questions is a sign of investment in the dating process and shows a willingness to really get to know someone. This in turn signals that someone is ready to be in a meaningful relationship.

OkCupid says that they wanted to include this particular category in Stacks to celebrate these users. The questions asked on the app helps the app algorithm connect users with profiles they are most compatible with and also encourages people to think about what's important to them when it comes to dating and relationships.

According to the company, there have been over 295 million responses to matching questions on the app this year and more than eight billion responses have been recorded since the app launched.

Speaking specifically about Stacks, OkCupid said since they began testing Stacks, women on the dating apps started sending two times more likes than they previously were. While women are more likely to use the Questions Pro Stack, Online and Nearby are the most popular Stacks.
