Redmi K40 series is expected to launch soon. The top-end models in the lineup will offer Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor.
Redmi K40 series is inching closer to the official launch. Already, we have come across a number of leaks and rumours. Redmi has also confirmed a few details of the upcoming phone. Now, a new leak has revealed one of the Redmi K40 models will come with an “unreleased sub-flagship processor.”
According to Gizmochina (via Digital Chat Station), K40 Pro will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and its price will start at CNY 2,999 ( ₹33,800 approximately). As of now, it is not clear whether the unreleased chip refers to MediaTek's or Qualcomm's.
As the report points out, Redmi K40's chip strategy is quite similar to Redmi K30's. The predecessor came with Snapdragon 765G chip as well as Snapdragon 865 chip.
The new leaks come shortly after Xiaomi's Redmi hinted at improved battery life in the K40 series. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing on Weibo posted a screenshot revealing the battery life of K40 at 64% after 10.5 hours of usage. The photo further revealed the remaining battery can be used for around 25 hours and four minutes. This brings the total battery life of the upcoming Redmi K40 to 37 hours.
Redmi K40 will most likely come with full HD+ display with 20:9 aspect ratio. Redmi has also confirmed that the phones will come with battery capacity “more than 4,000mAh”.
