Samsung Electronics launched its first SUHD TV range in India on Tuesday.

The new range of TVs will be available in 165.1 cm (65 inch) and 139.7 Cm (55 inch) at Samsung Smart Plazas and leading consumer electronic stores and will be priced at 4,40,900 and 3,14,900, respectively.

With the launch of the new series, Samsung has finally brought its Tizen software in the premium segment which could be a major rival to Android TVs.

Alok Pathak, the head of retail sales at Samsung India Electronics, said, 'Samsung has set a new industry standard for the best picture quality available today.

'As the first 'S' branded TV, Samsung's SUHD TV is designed to offer an outstanding viewing experience with sensational picture quality, seamless interaction and ultra-stylish design.

'We will continue our innovative heritage and push the boundaries of the home entertainment experience to new possibilities,' he added.

Samsung says the TVs will be utilising proprietary, eco-friendly nano-crystal technology and Tizen, an open-source platform, will also support the web standard for TV app development.

Consumers will be able to share video content from their Samsung smartphones to the TV.
