Google hosted the sixth edition of its Google for India event on Monday. At the event Google made a host of announcements pertaining to its products and services in India. This includes taking Bolo app that was introduced in India to over 180 countries in nine languages, announcing a partnership with CBSE for expanding the scope of virtual learning amid the pandemic and Google announcing a $10 billion fund in India.

In addition to that we saw Vivo announcing the launch date of its X50 series smartphones in India.

So here's a look at today's top tech news:

Google for India 2020 event

Google hosted Google for India 2020 event in India today. At the event, Google announced that it would be investing 75,000 crore in India in coming 5-7 years. Google also announced a partnership with Prasar Bharti to bring a edutainment series on Doordarshan. The company also launched a $1 million grant for enhancing the quality of virtual education in India.

PM Modi meets Sundar Pichai

Prime Minister Narendar Modi on the premise of the Google for India 2020 event held a discussion with the Alphabet Inc CEO Sundar Pichai where the duo had a discussion on a variety of topics ranging from privacy to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Snapchat rolls out Here for You feature in India

Snapchat rolled out ‘Here for You' feature in its app today. This feature provides support to Snapchatters who may be dealing with a mental health or an emotional crisis.

Samsung launches SpaceMax Family Hub in India

Samsung launched the SpaceMax Family Hub refrigerator in India today. It will be available for pre-booking on Flipkart, Samsung.com, Reliancedigital.in, Croma.com and Vijaysales.com from July 13 to July 26 at a special price of 1,96,990. After that it will be available for 2,19,900.

Vivo X50 series gets a launch date

Vivo today announced it would be launching its X50 series smartphones comprising of the Vivo X50 and the Vivo X50 Pro in India via an online event at 12PM on July 16.
