The Lord of the Rings: Ring of Power, prequel to the events of the Lord of the Rings trilogy movie, will soon make its OTT debut. The series first started in 2001 and it ended in 2003. And now, 19 years later, fans would finally get to revisit the nostalgia and experience the adventures of Hobbit and other mythical creatures of Middle Earth. If you are excited about the show as well, then you need to know when The Lord of the Rings OTT release will happen.

The show is inspired by the events mentioned in the author J.R.R. Tolkien's history of Middle-earth beyond The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The prequel explores what happened before the events of three novels including Second Age of Middle Earth and follows the events of forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the fall of the island kingdom of Númenor, and the last alliance between Elves and Men.

The Rings of Power is the most expensive series to be produced in the history of OTTs. The show has a reported budget of $465 million for the first season. The show is being produced by Amazon Studios and it is betting big for the show.

For the fans of the show, you do not have to wait much longer to watch this epic series unravel. The Lord of the Rings release date is September 2, 2022. It will debut on Amazon Prime Videos and just like House of Dragon, the show will be released one episode a week.
