Honda U-Go made its debut in China last year and soon after that, the Japanese manufacturer filed a patent for this electric scooter in India. The patent was registered back in August 2021, but the latest development suggests that India may soon get the affordable Honda electric scooter soon! It is called Honda U-Go. Earlier, Honda had announced its future roadmap which suggested the company's plans to launch a new entry-level motorcycle soon in India.
If it happens, then Honda U-Go will be the first electric vehicle from Honda to be launched in India. Honda U-Go could be a part of the plans to bring in affordable electric vehicles in the country to build an ecosystem for greener technology. The Honda U-Go comes with a minimalistic design philosophy. It gets a clean design along with a lot of straight lines. The indicators can be found a bit high on the handlebar while the headlight and the DRL are placed on the apron. It has an angular design and will be quite light to be more power efficient. Honda U-Go brings a sleek taillight too.
Based on the international model, this affordable electric scooter comes in two variants - one powered by a 1.6bhp motor which runs on a removable 1.44kWh battery with claimed range of 65km and the other one with a 1 bhp motor with same battery features.
While looking at the performance factor, the scooter speed may be restrained to around 50kmph. Well, the second battery configuration may provide a range of 130 km. These batteries will be removable from the scooter.
However, it is still unknown if U-Go will be the first electric two-wheeler from Honda in India or not and when it will be launched.
