This e-bike will Shock and Awe you! Just check out the Cake Osa Electric Motorbike
What is the strangest looking e-bike you have ever come across? No matter what it is, we are sure the Cake Osa electric motorbike will still shock you. But behind a seemingly off-putting design, it claims to offer practicality.
Earlier this year, Swedish bike manufacturer Cake unveiled a new off-grid electric motorbike called Osa. And on the first glance, you'd be forgiven for being shocked over how it looks. Unlike most e-bikes, Cake Osa does not come with a smooth design and ergonomic form factor. In fact, to many, it may look like a skeleton of an e-bike. With no leg guards, headlight visor and a lot of weird moving parts, it does intimidate you. But according to the manufacturers, who specifically designed it for customizability and off-roading experience, it offers what is most essential in a e-bike – pragmatism. ‘Clean, durable, flexible, and built to offer fast and convenient transportation off-road as well as in cities, the new Ösa AP clearly demonstrates our mission to inspire and contribute to accelerating the journey towards a zero emission society, combining excitement and responsibility,' said Stefan Ytterborn, founder and CEO of Cake.

The wheels are accompanied with equally robust suspensions as well. The electric motorbike is equipped with a 50.4Ah lithium battery that can be removed from the frame and charged separately from the bike. What is really interesting is that the bike also comes with two outlets, one 12W and one 5W, which allows you to charge light tools including your smartphone. While it will not fast charge it, it will make sure you get out of a camping trip without losing connectivity. The battery offers around 100 kilometers in one go, and charges fully in 3 hours.
The Cake Osa electric motorbike has three driving modes. The first mode lets you maximize range with a top speed of 30 km/h, while the second mode balances speed with range at 45 km/h. The best part about Cake Osa e-bike is its customizability. The bike offers multiple moving parts which allows a user to change it into different looks for different purposes. You purchase the bike with the kit you think would be the most helpful to you from a curated catalog or design your own. The choices allow you to use the electric motorbike as a transportational vehicle with a big basket attachment on the back, carriage space on side as well as front. Or, you can simply add a second seat at the back and use it for recreational purposes.
The manufacturer Cake has created a little monster in Osa, which might not be the most appealing e-bike on the street, but is definitely capable of doing the heavy-lifting unlike any other. The e-bike price starts at $9000 which roughly translates to around Rs. 6.5 lakh, so it is not exactly a cheap option.
