Cake Osa
Cake Osa electric motorbike is not your everyday e-bike. It doesn’t have an ergonomic curved design and it has a lot of moving parts. But the manufacturers claim that this ‘pragmatism-over-style’ vehicle offers utility like never before. (Cake)

Earlier this year, Swedish bike manufacturer Cake unveiled a new off-grid electric motorbike called Osa. And on the first glance, you'd be forgiven for being shocked over how it looks. Unlike most e-bikes, Cake Osa does not come with a smooth design and ergonomic form factor. In fact, to many, it may look like a skeleton of an e-bike. With no leg guards, headlight visor and a lot of weird moving parts, it does intimidate you. But according to the manufacturers, who specifically designed it for customizability and off-roading experience, it offers what is most essential in a e-bike – pragmatism. The best part about Cake Osa e-bike is its customizability. The bike offers multiple moving parts which allows a user to change it into different looks for different purposes. You purchase the bike with the kit you think would be the most helpful to you from a curated catalog or design your own. The choices allow you to use the electric motorbike as a transportational vehicle with a big basket attachment on the back, carriage space on side as well as front. Or, you can simply add a second seat at the back and use it for recreational purposes.

The manufacturer Cake has created a little monster in Osa, which might not be the most appealing e-bike on the street, but is definitely capable of doing the heavy-lifting unlike any other. The e-bike price starts at $9000 which roughly translates to around Rs. 6.5 lakh, so it is not exactly a cheap option.
