Twitter is tipped to be working on adding a new feature that could allow users to add Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses to their profiles to receive cryptocurrency tips. This Twitter feature might be part of the Tip Jar feature that was recently announced by the company. Tip Jar is available to select groups of users including creators, journalists, experts, and nonprofits. It is also available to only those who use Twitter in English. Also, Twitter does not take any cut from these tips. For the unaware, Tip Jar is available on Android and iOS. The profiles that support it have a Tip Jar icon next to the follow button on their profile.

If you want to tip a creator, you can tap on that icon and choose among the list of payment options to send a tip. Twitter currently offers Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal and Venmo as payment options. It is now tipped to add Bitcoin and Ethereum to the list of payment options. The latest development comes from mobile app developer Alessandro Paluzzi has found references about Twitter letting users add Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses to their profiles. The developer posted a tweet that carried three screenshots to indicate the new options.

As per the screenshots, it looks like users would be able to copy Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses to send tips in any of the two cryptocurrencies using the Tip Jar feature. Moreover, Twitter appears to allow users to add Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses to their profiles. Paluzzi had also tweeted a screenshot before to suggest the arrival of Bitcoin support to the Tip Jar feature. Further, the tweet received a reply from Twitter's product lead Kayvon Beykpour. He included a lightning bolt emoji along with another saying “soon” to confirm its development and its imminent release.

Twitter users who want to enable Tip Jar can do so from their ‘Edit Profile' section. Here, select Tip Jar and turn it on. Then add your payment details so you can receive the tips. On Android, Twitter users will be able to enable Tip Jar on Spaces as well. Twitter plans on allowing more users to enable Tip Jar on their profiles. It will also add more languages in the future.
