Twitter will now show relevant information for domestic violence keywords
Twitter has launched a dedicated search prompt on its platform for information and updates on domestic violence. This search prompt will provide information in English and HIndi.
Twitter has partnered with the Ministry of Women and Child Development and National Commission for Women for this new service. The search prompt will show relevant information when users search for domestic violence related keywords on Twitter.
A banner will be displayed on top of the search results page with links to both the Ministry of Women and Child Development and National Commission for Women. Users can follow these links to get relevant information and resources.
The new initiative is part of Twitter's #ThereIsHelp prompt which it launched to help users find credible information on critical issues, the company said.
The new search prompt will work on Twitter's iOS and Android apps, its desktop app and on mobile web as well. Some of the keywords in English and Hindi that will generate this prompt include -
#crimeagainstwomen, #domesticviolence, #dowry, #dowrydeath, #genderviolence, #genderbasedviolence, #lockdownviolence, #maritalrape, #POSH
Twitter said it will continue reviewing this feature regularly so that all related keywords generate this search prompt. This search prompt will appear on Twitter's explore tab when users type any domestic violence-related keywords. A prompt on ‘ThereIsHelp' will appear that users can click on for information and facts.
