Facebook Messenger has evolved from being just a messaging app to one with several interesting features. One of the most interesting and often unnoticed features is the Messenger games.

Facebook introduced 'Instant Games' for Messenger in 2016. These are the same games you can play on Facebook as well. There are tons of games on Messenger which you can play with your contacts or with random players online. Games from popular developers like Bandai Namco, Zynga, King, and Konami are available on Messenger.

Facebook also announced new features for Messenger games. Users can livestream their gameplay through Facebook Live. Facebook has also integrated video chat on Messenger games starting with 'Words with Friends'. There will be more popular titles coming on Messenger like Rovio's Angry Birds and Tetris.

To play the games on Messenger, tap on the gaming controller icon on the menu bar. You will be greeted with all the popular and featured games on the app. While there's a long list of games to play on Messenger, some have to be unlocked. To do so, users will have to first play the available games and unlock the rest to continue playing.

Uno

Uno is a classic cards game enjoyed by family and friends. Uno on Messenger comes with the same features and rules as the original game. You can team up with a friend from your contact list or randomly pair yourself with another player. There are different game modes wherein rules and stakes differ. Users can also opt for global championships and different tournaments. They can also send gifts and pre-loaded messages to other players in the game.

Words With Friends

Zynga's 'Word with Friends' is another favourite on Facebook. This game can be played within one's chat conversation with another person on Messenger. It's similar to scrabble where one makes words on the board with the given letters. Each user takes turns and plays the game within the chat itself. You'd be surprised to know the kind of words that exist when you start putting random ones on the board.

Everwing

Blackstorm Labs' Everwing is also one of the most popular games on Messenger. The objective of the game is to score points by killing monsters that come your way. At the same time, you have to collect coins and other items. Users can play this game alone or team up with other players.

Draw and Guess

If you remember 'Draw My Thing' you will be quite familiar with 'Draw and Guess'. As the name suggests, you have to draw an item been suggested and the other person will have to guess it. Here too you can play with friends or with other players online.
