Watch: Microsoft exec with Surface Duo shows up in a video
The 37-second video shows vice president of Microsoft 365, Brad Anderson holding the Surface Duo and controlling the ‘Shiproom’.
Microsoft Surface Duo, after being showcased on social media multiple times by Joe Belfiore, has once again showed up on the web. The only difference is that now the Surface Duo features in a video. The 37-second video posted by MSPowerUser website, shows vice president of Microsoft 365, Brad Anderson holding the Surface Duo and controlling the ‘Shiproom', which is the series hosted by him on Youtube. In the video he shows how it will be possible to change the green screen background using native and third-party software.
In the video, Anderson also changes the colour of a colleagues T-shirt, which in all likeliness is through the same app. We are yet to see the full capabilities of the product whenever it reaches out to the masses.
That said, the product is slowly moving closer to the launch as one of its variant passed a certification in Canada a few years ago.
According to a report in Windows Latest, the model number of the product seen on the UL LLC certifications is also 1930 which ties in with the certifications filed by Microsoft at FCC and Bluetooth SIG.
There is, however, another variant of the Surface Duo that has been spotted on the UL certifications for Canada with the model number 1930r. Reports speculate that this could be the high-end variant of the Surface Duo or its locked/unlocked version.
This listing also helps confirm that the Surface Duo, which is supposed to launch this year, will be available outside the US.
The Surface Duo is Microsoft's first foray into the dual-screen space where it is making a debut with a hinge-based device that comes with Android software. Rumours indicate that Microsoft plans to launch a second-gen Surface Duo next year.
