WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to its app. In the past, reports have detailed that the popular messaging app is planning to bring Messenger Rooms and support for QR codes to its iOS based app. And now, a new report details a bunch of new features that are expected to make their way to the app soon.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the blog that tracks developments in WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned messaging app is planning to add two new features to its iOS based app. First is a redesigned menu.

As of now, iPhone users see a long menu with Star, Reply, Forward, Copy, Info and Delete options when they long press on a message that they have sent. However, this long menu is only available in the version of WhatsApp that is running on iOS 13. For the app that is running on the older version shows a more compact menu hiding Info and Delete options under the More option. Now, the blog site says that WhatsApp is planning to bring the expanded menu to iPhones running on iOS 12 and lower versions of iOS with WhatsApp for beta version 2.20.70

In addition to this, WhatsApp is also planning to bring Contacts Shortcuts to its iOS-based app. As of now, when users want to share a Tweet they are shown a window that gives them access to their most frequently used contacts along with the sharing options. Now, the company is bringing WhatsApp contacts to the Share Sheet.

The blog site says that the Contacts Shortcut will be synced with WhatsApp, which means that if a contact changes their profile picture, the same will be reflected in the share sheet.

It is worth noting that these features are still in the developmental phase and so, it will be some time before WhatsApp releases these features to the main app.
