These new features and updates were released in order to make the app more easy and comfortable for the users and also to remove certain bugs. Not just a communication tool to share images, videos, audio, and status, WhatsApp app can be used to make payments and do business too. WhatsApp in 2021 has been actively engaged with its users by rolling out feature after feature and much of this has a lot to do with the fact that competition from rivals like Telegram and Signal has become even more fierce. This is especially so after WhatsApp started a huge controversy over the privacy issue that caused a huge number of its users to delete the app itself. Having said that, we can surely say that the app has improved a lot this year. So, check out the WhatsApp features list in 2021: 1. Terms of Service: According to a report by WABetaInfo, a lot of people complained about the new Terms of Service, claiming that they would have given more power to Facebook over users' privacy. It forced WhatsApp to backtrack. Also read click here. 2. Importing animated sticker packs: The ability to import third party sticker packs has been included on WhatsApp for Android and iOS. 3. WhatsApp Calling from the Desktop: It's finally possible to place private and secure calling from the desktop. Can group calls be expected for the new year on the desktop app? You need to wait and see! 4. Speeding up voice notes: This addition has been very appreciated by the WhatsApp users. As per the report by WABetaInfo, a new global voice note player is expected to be released the next year. 5. Default Message Timer, View Once and Multi-Device 6. New Archive: WhatsApp has released a new way to keep your chats in the archive with the help of New Archive. 7. Best Quality Photos: WhatsApp has released a new feature to send best quality photos. A new way to send original quality photos while sending them can also be expected in future. 8. Moving Chats from iOS to Android: WhatsApp has released the feature for more Android 12 devices. 9. End-to-end encrypted backups: It is the feature launched by WhatsApp to protect your backup from unauthorized access. 10. My Contacts Except: This feature has not been rolled out to everyone yet and is expected to be rolled out faster for more users the next year. 11. Novi: It is a small pilot program that has been released in the US. It is expected to be released in other parts of the world soon.
