The latest development comes from WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, which reported that the changes were spotted in the WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.21.18.1. The new beta reveals a brighter colour scheme that is available on both dark and light themes. The green hue is now lighter in shade. It is noticeable when you put both the older and newer WhatsApp beta release side-by-side. WhatsApp is taking into account all the major UI elements to match with the new colour scheme. The top bar, background, and message bubbles all feature the new, lighter tone of green hue. Moreover, the icons in the Settings menu are also shifted from the earlier green ones to grey.

As per the report, there is a new colour scheme even for the ring appearing over status updates and the chat share sheet. The new WhatsApp beta also brings back the creation date for groups, which was earlier pulled by the company for Android users. However, it continues to be available on the iOS version of the app. WhatsApp has also changed the existing “Type a message” appearing on the chat bar with a new “Message” banner.
