WhatsApp update: Users can check status updates in chats list! Know details
WhatsApp is working on a future update according to which users will be able to check status updates in chats list. Here is all you need to know.
WhatsApp users must be aware of the status feature available on the application using which they can share pictures, text, videos, and much more with the people in their contact for 24 hours. In order to check the status you need to go to the status section. But now, as per the latest information, the messaging application is working on showing status updates in the chats list for a future update. Informing about the same, WABetaInfo tweeted, "WhatsApp beta for iOS 126.96.36.199: what's new? WhatsApp is working on showing status updates in the chats list for a future update!"
Earlier WABetaInfo had informed about the ability to view status updates right within your chats list in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta. The feature is still under development on the desktop platform, and now WhatsApp is planning to introduce the same feature on iOS at a later date. Are you wondering how this feature will work? Well as per the information when the feature will be released and someone from your contacts list publishes a status update, it will also be visible right within the chats list without opening the Status tab, WABetaInfo said in a report.

At the moment, even muted status updates are highlighted in the chats list, but this may be temporary: since this feature is under development and has not been rolled out yet, WhatsApp may change the way the feature works before the release, it further informed.
Other than this, WhatsApp users can know that the messaging application is releasing a new caption view when sending media and the ability to include more recipients right within your chats.
"Some lucky iOS beta testers have now a redesigned caption view when sending media: it lets them select additional recipients before sending media (including status updates). This feature was previously available when taking a photo or recording a video from the Camera tab, but since WhatsApp is planning to replace it with the communities tab in a future update, the company is now adding this ability to the default caption view," WABetaInfo informed.
In addition, WhatsApp has also redesigned the interface when you want to change the audience for your status updates, but note that you still need to go to your status privacy settings if you want to definitely change it.
