You can get one year of Disney+Hotstar subscription free: Here’s how

Airtel is offering a free annual subscription to Disney+Hotstar with some of its select postpaid and broadband plans. You can avail this offer on the Airtel Thanks app.

Adding to the list of free perks and offers that many telecom operators dole out to customers to keep them is an annual subscription to Disney+Hotstar from Airtel. This offer comes in just a few months after Jio offered a free subscription to Disney+Hotstar for its postpaid and broadband customers. Airtel is not doing the same and its customers are not eligible for a free subscription to the content streaming platform too.

You can check out the new offer on the Airtel website and it is applicable for some select postpaid and broadband plans. For postpaid customers to be eligible, they need to be on a plan that costs above ₹499. For Airtel's Xstream customers, they need to be subscribing to plans that cost more than ₹999 and higher.

The free membership to Disney+Hotstar can be availed from the Airtel Thanks app.

How to avail the offer

To get the offer customers need to buy the eligible pack. Once that is done, you need to head over to the Airtel Thanks app and look for the offer under the #airtelthanks sanction. You can then apply the offer by logging into your respective Hotstar account.

What you will get is the normal annual subscription to Disney+Hotstar. The plan you are getting costs ₹1,499 and gives you access to all the VIP content and live shows. The VIP plan in itself costs ₹399/year and comes without any access to English content.

However, and most importantly, the offer from Airtel will not add on to any subscription that you currently have going on. If you are already on an annual subscription plan, activating this offer will disable the previous one and start afresh. So if you have just renewed your subscription for an annual plan, we suggest you don't take this unless you don't mind losing a few weeks/months - you will get to use the new plan for a full year though.

Also, if you move to a lower-tiered plan on Airtel, the offer will be deactivated. So you need to stick to your Airtel plan through this one year period.

Airtel's offer on Disney+Hotstar is better than Jio's since Jio is offering the free annual subscription for plans above ₹999 for JioFiber, however, it is only offering the VIP subscription that does not come with access to English content.
