Your WhatsApp Group Info set to change; here is how to make this feature work

WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to its platform. Just recently, WhatsApp announced that it was rolling out a new feature that would enable users to migrate their chat history, which includes their text conversations and the media files -- videos and images -- from WhatsApp's iOS-based app to WhatsApp's Android-based app. This WhatsApp feature has already been rolled out for Samsung smartphones. Now, word is that the Facebook-owned company is working to deliver a new feature that aims to improve the look and feel of the WhatsApp Group Info section on its Android app.

The company, back in June this year, had started working on a WhatsApp feature called a new user interface for Business Info. This feature was being developed for WhatsApp's Android-based business app and it brought changes to the user interface of the details of a Business Info section of the app. Tapping on the Business profile section would take users to an info section wherein they will see three buttons -- Message, Call to communicate with the business and a Forward button to forward the business' details to their contacts. In addition to this, users can also see the business' product catalog along with the fact if the business is closed or open on a particular day. Now, word is that WhatsApp is working on bringing similar changes to its Android app for the general public.

The company is planning to bring the user interface changes that it brought to the Business Info section of the app to the WhatsApp Group Info section of its Android app. A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo shows that WhatsApp will give users two buttons -- one with video calling option and the other with voice calling ability -- right under the name of the group which also shows the total number of participants.

Under that option, WhatsApp users will get other group-based settings options, which include Media, Links and Docs section, the toggle button to Mute notifications, and other settings such as Custom Notifications and Media Visibility. The functionality of Custom Notifications and Media Visibility remains unknown for now. That said, this WhatsApp feature is still in the development phase. WhatsApp is expected to roll it out to the beta testers with a future update.
