Snapchat Spectacles 2, Spectacles 3 to launch in India on July 4

Snapchat launched its second and third generation Spectacles in 2018 and 2019. Now, the company is finally bringing its smart lenses to India. Snapchat Spectacles 2 and Spectacles 3 will be available in India starting July 4 via Flipkart.

Snapchat has created a dedicated website for Spectacles in India. The two smart lenses are also listed on the e-commerce platform. The listing not only shares details about the upcoming Spectacles 2 and Spectacles 3 but it also reveals the price of the smart lenses.

Spectacles 2 price and specs

The Snapchat Spectacles 2 weigh 45.4 grams and they come with a 4GB of flash storage that can store up to 150 videos or 3,000 photos. They have a dual microphone array for audio and two cameras with an aperture of f2.2 and a 150-degree field of view that can produce images with a resolution of 1642 x 1642 pixels and videos at 60 fps. Spectacles 2 come with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that can capture and transfer over 70 videos per charge. For connectivity they have Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11ac.

Spectacles 2 are compatible with iPhone 5 or above running iOS 10 or above or smartphones running Android 4.4 or above with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi Direct.

The Snapchat Spectacles 2 cost ₹14,999 in India and they will be available in Sapphire, Onyx and Ruby colour variants.

Spectacles 3 price and specs

Spectacles 3, on the other hand, are a bit heavier as they weigh 56.5 grams and come with 4GB of flash storage that can store up to 100 3D videos or 1,200 3D photos. The third generation Spectacles have a four-microphone audio array for audio and two cameras with a 105-degree 2D field of view and a 86-degrees 3D field of view and an aperture of f2.2. While the two cameras combined offer an image resolution of 1728 x 1728 pixels, the video resolution stands at 1216 x 1216 pixelas at 60 fps.

For connectivity Spectacles 3 have Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 802.11ac. There is also a rechargeable Li-ion battery that can capture and sync up to 70 videos per full charge and a charging case that can fully charge in about 75 minutes.

The Spectacles 3 cost ₹29,999 and they are available in Mineral and Carbon colour variants.
