One of the big announcements Sony made during its latest PlayStation 5 reveal was that Hitman III would come to the console in January 2021. Hitman III is Agent 47’s third and final adventure in the World of Assassination trilogy and the franchise’s eighth major venture.

It’s a return of a classic, but you will have to wait for a while to play it on your PlayStation. However, while you wait you can relive Agent 47’s history for free. To mark the last three days of its summer sale, GOG.com is giving you Hitman: Absolution for free.

GOG.com has DRM-free games so that means these games are yours to keep. However, you are on the clock since GOG’s deal is only available until 9:00am EDT. You can download the game from here.

Hitman: Absolution is the fifth installment of the Hitman series that has been on a hiatus of sorts since 2006’s Blood Money. The game garnered some decent reviews but it had its fans divided since it departed from the stealth elements the series is known for in favour of better accessibility for a more casual audience.

Hitman: Absolution is more linear than most other Hitman games and it has some open-ended missions that let you approach objectives as you think best. For all those looking to check out the series for the first time, Hitman: Absolution is actually a pretty good place to start and serves as a nice primer for the more recent Hitman games, 2016's Hitman and Hitman 2.
