After PUBG maker Krafton launched BattleGrounds Mobile India (BGMI), it became a great success. BGMI came to India as the replacement of the popular PUBG Mobile India game, after it was banned in the country along with 118 other apps last year. PUBG lovers were blessed with the BGMI game in the absence of PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite in India. BGMI hit the screens in India on July 2, 2021 and since then gamers have been enjoying the PUBG replacement. However, there has been no replacement released for PUBG Mobile Lite in India. And BGMI Lite release date announcement is what fans are waiting for now. Reason is that BGMI Lite will support low-end phones too. In fact, Battlegrounds Mobile India cannot be played on low-end devices.

However, over the recent weeks, there have been continuous leaks about the launch of BGMI Lite in India, and for all intents and purposes, these are indicating gamers will get it soon. However, Krafton has yet to give an official statement regarding the release of BGMI Lite, but you should expect its launch in India soon and here's why.

Recently, Battlegrounds Mobile India Discord server had set up a poll asking players about why they want BGMI Lite. Gamers had then revealed their reasons regarding the requirement for BGMI Lite.

• Number of low-end device users

The release of BGMI is awaited by a large number of low-end device users in India. Hundreds of millions of people use low-end smartphones with 1GB or 2GB of RAM in India. In such case, BGMI becomes too a heavy game to play. BGMI Lite will make it easier for low-end device users to play games. The market is massive and should interest Krafton.

• Expansion of BGMI

Millions of gamers spend a huge amount of money to buy in-game items such as Winter passes, costumes, weapons, skins, and more. Now the expansion of BGMI to its lighter version will surely expand its revenue.

BGMI Lite expected features and release date

Till now the leaks and news about the BGMI Lite features revealed that gamers can expect it to be like PUBG Mobile Lite. But there will be fewer Battle Royale maps available, as well as a smaller number of Arcade options. Though, due to its Lite version gamers may not be able to play a wide variety of modes. BGMI Lite will feature its own Royale Pass, similar to the Winner Pass in PUBG Mobile Lite.

Krafton has yet to give an official statement regarding the release of BGMI Lite, which means that there is no set date for the game's release. But according to the recent report by Sportskeeda, BGMI Lite is expected to be released in January of the coming year. Still, we recommend to wait for the official information from the Krafton or BGMI
