BGMI Lite: Why do you need it, asks Krafton
BGMI Lite: Krafton asks players on Discord why they need a Lite version of BGMI in India over a poll.
Is BGMI Lite happening? This is a million dollar question for mobile gamers across India. Despite BGMI bringing back the PUBG Mobile experience to Indian players, many of them are asking for a lighter version of the game; one that works with low-end smartphones. It seems that Krafton is giving that a thought, as is evident from the latest poll related to the game.
On Discord, Krafton conducted a poll, asking players why they want to see a BGMI Lite version. Members could choose from a couple of the replies listed below.
-I can't play BGMI on my low-end device.
-I can play BGMI, but I'll have better frame rates and performance in Lite version on my device.
- I spent money in Lite version and want to transfer my data/inventory
- I like the maps and Skins in Lite version.
Is BGMI Lite coming to India?
Note that this is just a poll conducted online and Krafton has not spoken on the possibility of BGMI Lite yet. Rumours have been suggestive of a possible BGMI Lite launch by the end of December 2021, although Krafton continues to focus on BGMI for now.
Prior to the PUBG Mobile ban in 2020, there were two versions of the game available to players. The PUBG Mobile Lite was the more stripped down version of the standard game optimised to work on Android devices with low-end hardware. The game had inferior graphics and an overall watered-down version of all the features. However, it ran easily on most affordable Android phones with ease.
Post BGMI, Krafton is now focusing on two games only. With BGMI taking care of PUBG enthusiasts, PUBG New State focuses more on those who seek a new gameplay experience with better graphics and improved gameplay dynamics. PUBG New State brings the Troi map along with several futuristic elements, since the game is set in 2051.
