Facebook Gaming lets you add copyrighted music during live streams
Facebook has partnered different music labels to allow streamers to add background music to their live streams as well as short clips.
Facebook is now allowing gaming streamers to add copyrighted music in their videos. The social networking giant said it has partnered with music labels to bring a big catalogue of popular music on Facebook Gaming.
Some of the top music labels that have joined Facebook Gaming are Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Kobalt Music Group, BMG publishing, and Merlin among others. Streamers will now have access to old and new music across genres. The company added it has secured licenses that cover more than 90 countries.
The catalogue will be available via Facebook's Sound Collection and to all creators for free. Initially, it will be available to Facebook's partnered creators but will be eventually rolled out to all gaming creators. It is worth noting that the new music catalogue is available for live streams as well as short clips.
It is not available for long and edited gaming videos. Facebook pointed out that it cannot disclose which music it does not cover. To make things simpler for game streamers, it will notify streamers about the music which may violate copyright issue.

“You are free to play music from your preferred source; for example, your preferred subscription service or downloads from your personal music collection. We're always looking for new integration and partnership opportunities, and we'll keep you posted as new things become available,” Facebook added.
The latest feature comes after Facebook Gaming shared a monthly product update. Facebook revealed Community Manager and Moderators can pin comments. It has added new filters to Game Hub on mobile and language selector. The company said it is working on chatbots, game tags, and different iterations of Share flow.
