Forza Horizon 4 is one of the most popular cross-platform racing games for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X and Microsoft surprised many gamers when it announced at E3 2021 that it was working towards launching the next instalment of the game - Forza Horizon 5. With the company busy developing the new version of the game, it is finally time to halt new development on Forza Horizon 4.

During its Forza Monthly livestream for the previous month, Playground Games had announced that no new features and new vehicles would be making their way to Forza Horizon as the company shifted its attention to the latest version of the game as reported by GameSpot. It is worth noting that the company has already provided years of support for users since the game was released back in 2018.

Now that new development on Forza Horizon 4 has ceased, the studio will no longer add new vehicles to the game, while any seasonal updates to the game will include remixed content from past seasons, according to the report. This means that with series update 38 for Forza Horizon 4, older players will see content from series 7 to 32 come back in a remixed format. Players will essentially be able to access older content with newer features, according to senior producer for the game, Tom Butcher.

Forza Horizon is slated for a November release, with the company expected to support PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game is expected to run at 4K/30FPS resolution on the Xbox Series X, at 1080p/60FPS on the Xbox Series S, according to the company, which has already opened up pre-orders for the game. However, with the recent Cyberpunk 2077 debacle, many gamers will probably want to wait and see how the game is when it is launched before they decide to make a purchase.
