Genshin Impact is only a month old but the mobile game has already garnered $245 million in player spending, according to the latest data from Sensor Tower. Genshin Impact launched on September 28 for iOS, Android, PS4 and Windows.

Genshin Impact secured around $60 million in the first week of its launch. It also managed to beat Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, Pokemon Go and Monster Strike to become the biggest revenue generator on the App Store and Google Play Store. The role-playing game (RPG) has also outpaced popular titles like Netmarble's Lineage 2: Revolution, and Lineage M. It has also beaten other major global releases like Nintendo's Fire Emblem Heroes and Fortnite.

According to Sensor Tower, Genshin Impact is the biggest RPG launch in the US where it garnered $45 million during the first month of its release. When it comes to player spending, China leads for Genshin Impact with $82 million or 33.5% of the total revenue so far. China is followed by Japan with 24% of the total revenue, and the US takes the third place with 18.3%.

Genshin Impact is however, ranked third in China's App Store in terms of player spending. Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile (Game for Peace) are still the most popular. In Japan too, the RPG ranks 4th, and 5th in the US. In terms of the app market, around $144 million was generated in the App Store, and over $101 million in the Google Play Store.

Daniel Ahmad from Sensor Tower partner Niko Partners said,“Genshin Impact is a great example of how Chinese developers are succeeding in the West by focusing on high production values, popular gameplay mechanics, and deep progression systems. The game feels and plays like a console game while ultimately being a free-to-play gacha title. Genshin Impact's global success reflects the evolution of Chinese game development, from outsourced artwork 15 years ago to full game development for the domestic market more recently, and now to full game development that resonates with global markets as well as the home front.”
