GTA Trilogy Remastered edition coming on Xbox, PlayStation, phones too

The GTA Trilogy Remastered edition will feature three classic games from the GTA franchise. Apart from PC and consoles, they will be coming mobile devices too.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise is defined by GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas, and as Rockstar Games celebrates 20 years of original 3D classic, there’s some announcement on this front. There will be a Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Remastered Edition launching later this year on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 5. These games will come to Android and iOS smartphones too!

As part of The Trilogy, Rockstar games will update the three classic games from its past. The Trilogy will include GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. All these games will get updated graphics and gameplay mechanics while still retaining the look and feel of the originals from the past. The publisher will also remove the original versions from digital stores going forward.

GTA Trilogy Remastered Edition features

Rockstar Games has only released a teaser so far, revealing the iconic cover female characters. There’s no hint of a gameplay yet but you can expect it to be no different than the original versions. The titles could most likely get a 4K 60 fps treatment with extra special effects to keep up with the modern generation demands.

“Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals. We’re extremely excited to share more about these groundbreaking titles in the coming weeks,” says Rockstar Games.

“In honor of the upcoming anniversary, today we are excited to announce that all three games will be coming to current generation platforms later this year in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC,” adds the publisher.

GTA Trilogy coming to mobiles

Similar to the classic versions, GTA Trilogy Remastered edition will hit iOS and Android devices too. However, these platforms will witness the games in the first half of 2022. Both Android and iOS currently host the mobile versions of these games. Android users can play GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA ChinaTown Wars, and GTA San Andreas.

Players on iOS can but GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas separately. Additionally, a Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy bundle is available on the App Store that contains all these three games.
