Nintendo Switch Online membership plan announced; check list of games on offer

The new Nintendo Switch Online membership plan gives users access to a library of 64 Nintendo games featuring newly added online play for up to 4 players.

It is the season of events and launches. First Apple launched its iPhone 13 series and Apple Watch 7 series. After that, Microsoft launched Surface Duo 2 smartphone, Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop Studio laptops. Now, Nintendo hosted its annual event, Nintendo Direct 2021, during which it announced a host of updates to its gaming universe starting with a new online membership plan for Nintendo Switch.

The new Nintendo Switch Online membership plan gives users access to a library of 64 Nintendo games featuring newly added online play for up to 4 players. The list includes Mario Kart 64 races and SEGA Genesis among others. Nintendo also said that all the other great benefits of Nintendo Switch Online such as access to over 100 classic NES and Super NES games, exclusive online matches in the Tetris 99 and PAC-MAN 99 games are also included in it.

Additionally, the company said that Nintendo Switch Online members will also have the opportunity to purchase full-size wireless Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis controllers to play these classic games the way they were meant to be played.

Apart from this, Nintendo at its Nintendo Direct event also highlighted its game-plan for the upcoming year. The company not only announced next games in franchises like Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3 and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, but also shared a long list of games from SQUARE ENIX that will be available on its platform. The list includes games like Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, Chocobo GP and TRIANGLE STRATEGY. Nintendo also said that remakes and compilations of nostalgic classics, including the HD remastered Actraiser Renaissance, Shadowrun Trilogy and Castlevania Advance Collection, a compilation featuring classic Castlevania games from the Game Boy Advance and Super NES systems will also be available on Nintendo's platform.

Nintendo also announced the launch of the Nintendo 64 Games that will be available on Switch right away. The list includes:

The company also shared a list of upcoming Nintendo 64 Games. The list includes:

Additionally, Nintendo announced the list of SEGA Genesis games that will be available on Nintendo's platform starting today. The list includes:
