The Sony PlayStation 5 made its global debut almost a year ago but India could only get stocks by mid-2021, which is still not in sync with the demand. However, recently Sony PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital were on sale yesterday on various online and offline retail stores but only for a few minutes! Yes, just for a minute. As soon as Sony's PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital went on sale at 12 PM on December 6 on various online retailers such as Amazon, Flipkart, Sony Center, Croma, Vijay Sales, Game Loot, Games The Shop, Prepaid Gamer Card and Reliance Digital, and it got booked within minutes on most of the websites.

Many users reported that they were successful in adding the product to their cart but as they proceeded to make the final payment during checkout, it got out of stock. Amazon, Flipkart, Vijay Sales and all other retailers now show the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital with the tag ‘Currently Unavailable' or ‘out of stock'. Though, this is not the first time that the demand for Sony PlayStation 5 has outpassed the supply. This had been the case since the PlayStation began restocking in May of this year. Despite consistently high demand, Sony continues to sell very few PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition PlayStation into India. Though, one of the reasons can be global semiconductor shortage.

The situation isn't going to seem getting any better anytime soon, with its worldwide demand surpassing supply even in 2022. Yesterday's sale was the PS5 Digital Edition's seventh pre-order phase, and the PS5's tenth overall. The PlayStation 5 with a Sony Blu-Ray player was priced at 49,990 whereas its digital edition was available at 39,990.

If you got the chance to get any of these PlayStations, then you must be feeling lucky right now and if you couldn't get it in this sale, then better luck next time (including me)! Though, there is no announcement for the next round of PS5 pre-orders, but observing the previous gap between November and December slots, you may get the next sale in January.
