Micromax In 1 smartphone to launch on March 19

Micromax is adding a new smartphone to its latest In lineup, and it's called 'In 1'.

Micromax has announced the launch of a new smartphone in India. Micromax In 1 will launch on March 19, making it the third phone from Micromax's comeback in India. It previously launched In 1b and In Note 1 smartphones.

The launch event for Micromax In 1 is scheduled to start at 12 pm on March 19. The company hasn't revealed anything about the phone except teasing a theatre invite. Micromax's co-founder Rahul Sharma did say the company is working on a 5G phone that will be priced aggressively. He added that by March-end there will be one new Micromax phone, and 4-5 more from April onwards. The company is looking at refreshing its portfolio every 6-8 months.

Sharma however, didn't share any details on the 5G smartphone. He had earlier talked about working on a phone with 6GB of RAM, a high-refresh rate display, and liquid cooling technology as well. It will also have Widevine L1 support enabling HD video streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and more.

This phone will be a new one altogether, and not a new variant of the existing Micromax In Note 1. Considering the 5G phone is slated to make its debut in the second half of this year, it's most likely this phone that's launching on March 19. Micromax is expected to reveal more details soon about the In 1 smartphone.

Its latest lineup of smartphones include In Note 1 and In 1b priced at ₹10,999 and ₹6,999, respectively.
