Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 launch on August 5 confirmed
Samsung's ‘Galaxy Unpacked' event is taking place on August 5, and the company's expected to launch a host of new devices. Samsung has now confirmed what's supposed to be the Galaxy Fold 2 for the Unpacked event.
Samsung UK on Twitter shared a short video teaser with the caption “A new look unfolds”. The teaser features the butterfly logo which Samsung used for the Galaxy Fold last year. This butterfly logo also appears in the new ‘Mystic Bronze' colour that's been the highlight for the event so far. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Buds Live have also been spotted in the same colour. It looks like there will be a Mystic Gold Galaxy Fold 2 as well.
According to leaks and reports, Galaxy Fold 2 or Galaxy Z Fold 2 is expected to feature a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. This will be the screen that's on the inside. At the exterior, the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED display.
The foldable phone could be powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 865+ processor. It will feature dual batteries with a total capacity of 4,365mAh and support for 15 wired and wireless fast charging speeds.
For photography, the Galaxy Fold 2 will reportedly sport a 10-megapixel sensor on the inside and outside. There will be a triple camera setup at the back as well. These could be a combination of a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens. So in total, we're looking at five cameras on the Galaxy Fold 2.
More details on the Galaxy Fold 2 include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and 5G support.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 5G at the event as well. More devices in the lineup Galaxy Note 20, Note 20+ and Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Live.
