Aarogya Setu app on KaiOS for Jio Phones launched last month.
Aarogya Setu launched in India for Android and iOS users this April. Last month the government launched the contact tracing app on KaiOS for Jio Phone users. It has now announced that Aarogya Setu has 3 crore users on Jio Phones.
The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) announced on Twitter that Aarogya Setu has been downloaded by 3 crore Jio Phone users. That's quite a feat considering it's been only a month since the app launched. Reliance Jio has Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 in its smart feature phone lineup.

This announcement comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Aarogya Setu app has 12 crore users in India. Just last month the app touched 10 crore users on Android and iOS. It's also among the top ten most downloaded apps globally.
The Covid-19 contact tracing app which launched on April 2 has been pushed and promoted heavily for users to download it and regularly update their health status. It's the official contact tracing app in India, and it uses GPS and Bluetooth to track Covid-19 people.
The app requires users to submit their self-assessment based on symptoms of Covid-19. Aarogya Setu alerts users if they come in close contact with Covid-19 affected people. The app shows if there are any positive cases starting from a 500m radius. Aarogya Setu was also made open source recently along with a bug bounty programme announced for the app.
