Apple may use a new battery tech for AirPods 3, iPhone 13 series and mini LED iPad

Kuo adds that a Shenzen-based technology firm called Jialianyi will obtain about 40-50% battery soft board orders for the next-gen iPhones.

While we have started witnessing some rumours and speculations for the next-gen iPhone, tipped as iPhone 13, one of the major claims is now coming from analyst Ming Chi-Kuo. Kuo, as per Apple Insider, says that Apple is expected to use something called as soft board battery technology in its "iPhone 13" and "iPhone 13 mini" smartphones that will be coming next year. He adds that these will be the first to use such a technology on battery circuitry. 

It is worth noting that Apple has already been using soft boards since the iPhone 8 for certain LTE antennas. However, this time it is planning to use the material more substantially for the batteries. These are essentially LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) Soft Board that are said to be a flexible alternative to regular printed circuit boards. This results in high-speed, low-latency data transfer.

Kuo adds that a Shenzen-based technology firm called Jialianyi will obtain about 40-50% battery soft board orders for the next-gen iPhones. This tech is expected to help reduce internal space and reduce costs as well.

"We believe that the number of battery panels for the iPhone 13 series is reduced due to the reduced number of suppliers, which will benefit the long-term profits of the suppliers," he continues. "As a new entrant, Jialianyi is the biggest beneficiary of the iPhone 13 series' switch to battery soft board design."

Kuo additionally mentions that Jialianyi could be the key supplier for iPhone 13 series as well as AirPods 3 (softboard), and mini LED iPad.
