BSNL extends free roaming service by 1 year

BSNL today extended its free roaming service by one more year enabling its mobile customers to receive calls at no extra cost while roaming.

"Public sector telecom giant, BSNL, has decided to extend 'Free National Roaming' facility to its mobile customers for another one year," BSNL said in a statement.

"The decision to extend the facility has been taken in view of overwhelming response of its customers in mobile number portability (MNP) and achieving highest growth of the customer in February and March months as per Trai report," BSNL Director for Consumer Mobility RK Mittal said.

Samco introduces zero balance trading account facility * Discount brokerage firm Samco has launched a zero balance trading account 'IntraPlus' for traders.

Through 'IntraPlus' account traders can initiate intra-day trades even if the cash balance in their trading accounts is zero, which is the first of its kind product in the Indian stock market, the company said in a statement today.

With IntraPlus, clients can pledge their shares and exchange traded funds (ETFs) of 801 approved stocks and get margins to trade across exchange segments.

Telenor selects mCarbon for emergency phone credit service * Telecom operator Telenor has selected value added service firm mCarbon for providing emergency credit facility, Tatkal Credit, of 5 to its subscribers in case their balance falls below 1.5.

"Tatkal Credit is an initiative by Telenor to ensure that our mass market subscribers are never out of recharge and are always connected," Telenor (India) Communications CEO Sharad Mehrotra said in a statement.

As part of this product, Telenor subscribers can avail a quick loan of 5 in case their phone balance falls below 1.50 by dialing a short code on their mobile or calling customer care. More PTI PRS SUM ADI MKJ
