Chingari on Wednesday announced a partnership with Dekko to introduce infotainment for its users.

Dekko is an early-stage start-up that offers trending news summarised in 30 seconds for non-English users. With the partnership, Chingari will serve 30-second infotainment videos to its users. Chingari intends to offer the video content in various categories, ranging from politics, business, entertainment, technology to lifestyle.

“We are delighted that Chingari users will now have an access to the latest news and happening across the world from Dekko. Our aim is to provide a seamless experience to our millions of users to keep themselves updated with the events occurring around the world along with creating and watching interesting content,” said Sumit Ghosh, Co-founder and CEO of Chingari.

Chingari has of late entered into multiple partnerships to increase its content catalogue. Just recently, it teamed up with Thrace Music to offer global music content. It also partnered with Hoichoi to bring the latter's content on its platform. It recently introduced Chingari Multiplex, an OTT platform for movie streaming.

The Indian short-video sharing platform currently has over 45 million downloads. The company claims its platform has an engagement time of 51 minutes.

Chingari had raised $1.3 million in seed funding in August last year. The funding was led by the likes of AngelList India, iSeed, Village Global, LogX Ventures and others. Just a couple of weeks later it announced receiving an undisclosed amount of funding from Brian Norgard, Chief Product Officer of Tinder, and from French entrepreneur Fabrice Grinda, founder of OLX.
