Foxconn's main iPhone manufacturing facility complex in the Chinese city if Zhengzhou had reportedly caught fire on Sunday evening but no casualties or production impact was reported.
According to a report in Wall Street Journal , local authorities were investigating the reason behind the fire which began in the central air conditioning fan and ventilation ducts on the roof of the facility. Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, the industrial area where Foxconn's factories are located, also published a statement saying that the matter was under investigation.
Foxconn later confirmed the fire on Monday but at the same time said that there was no manufacturing impact. Several photos and videos also made way to Chinese social media sites on Sunday evening that showed several floors of the facility on fire.
Although, Apple declined to comment, earlier there have been huge explosions at iPhone and iPad production facilities in China due to combustible dust in the air. It is still unclear as to what caused the fire.
