Halo 4

Halo 4 marks the beginning of a new trilogy in the Halo universe with developer 343 Industries at the helm. It sees the resurrection of Master Chief and is a direct sequel to Halo 3. It can however be infuriating for a newcomer as new species and characters are introduced, and the game just keeps moving on without any explanation.

But Halo 4 looks fantastic because of its tech and fantastic art design. The multiplayer is possibly the best since Halo 2, with a game-play that is fast without feeling like a twitch shooter. You can now pick your starting weapons, armour abilities and perks from a list, though the power weapons still have to be 'earned'. Though you rank up pretty fast, it still feels like an unneeded copy of the market leader (Call Of Duty).

However, the downside is that it doesn't have the large sprawling levels from Halo 3 and is also a little bit shorter than the usual Halo game.

Verdict: Halo 4 can be guilty of not changing enough or changing too much, but at the end of the day, it's still a Halo game at its core. And a great one.
