HTC U12+ flagship phone debuts with four cameras: Full specifications, features, price
HTC U12+ features dual cameras at the rear and front. It also comes with an updated ‘Edge Sense 2’ gesture controls.
HTC on Wednesday launched its flagship smartphone, U12+. The smartphone is currently available in the US via mobile carriers At&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. HTC hasn't announced details for a global launch as yet. HTC U12+ starts at $799 ( ₹54,800 approximately) for the base variant, and $849 ( ₹58,200 approximately) for the top model.
The smartphone flaunts a liquid surface back in three colour options of translucent blue, ceramic black, and flame red. HTC U12+ also features an updated Edge Sense 2 which comes with new gestures, and integration with apps like Google Maps.
For example, you can use the pressure sensitive buttons to zoom in on a map or you can even pause and play music with Edge Sense 2. You can also access Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa with Edge Sense 2.

The smartphone's highlight is its dual-camera setup at the rear and front. HTC U12+ sports a 12-megapixel and 16-megapixel dual-camera setup at the rear. Up front it houses a pair of 8-megapixel cameras for selfies. There are a host of camera features like 'UltraSpeed Autofocus 2', 2X optical zoom and 10X digital zoom, HDR boost 2 and AR stickers. The smartphone also offers video recording at 60 frames per second, 3D audio recording, bokeh mode and 'Sonic Zoom'.
HTC U12+ features a 6-inch Quad HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. There are two storage options of 64GB and 128GB. HTC U12+ packs a 3,500mAh battery, and is IP68 certified for water resistance.
On the software front, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. The company has already promised an upgrade to the upcoming Android P OS. In terms of connectivity, HTC U12+ offers Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, NFC, and Wi-Fi.
