If you are a YouTube Premium user you can test experimental YouTube features right now
YouTube Premium users will get to test out new features on the platform that are in the development pipeline. Earlier Google allowed users picked at random to beta test these experimental features.
YouTube Labs is now available for YouTube's Premium users. What does this mean? Essentially, if you are a YouTube Premium subscriber, you can get access to the platform's experimental products that are in the development pipeline, reported XDA Developers. So far, new test features were restricted to people Google randomly picked as beta testers.
For now, the new features that Premium subscribers can test include watching videos with sound while searching your YouTube homepage on iOS, voice search for YouTube videos on-site (only on Chrome), the ability to filter content by topic in additional languages (Spanish, French and Portuguese) etc.
However, Google has mentioned that these features are only available for a limited time. The experimental features page points out - “For a limited time, Premium subscribers can try out new features that we're working on. Share your feedback to help us build a better YouTube.”

YouTube's $11.99/month ( ₹99/month in India) YouTube Premium gives users access to ad-free viewing, access to YouTube Music, the option to download videos, background play etc.
It is unclear why exactly Google has moved the experimental features to YouTube Premium. It might be a way to get people to sign up for the service or alternately, Google saw that people were not testing new features often enough and subscribers might be more inclined to check new features out.
These new experimental features are available till October 20.
