Instagram, the online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service, will soon state how many people viewed a video that was posted.

The Facebook owned service will display the number of views besides the usual -- likes the video has gathered and by whom.

The view count will allow the users to know how well their videos are doing with fans and potential customers, in a similar way like on YouTube and Cnet reported.

Instagram enables its users to take pictures and videos, and share them either publicly or privately on the app, as well as through a variety of other social networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr.

The service was acquired by Facebook in April 2012 for approximately $1 billion in cash and stock. In 2013, Instagram grew by 23 percent, while Facebook, as the parent company, grew by only three percent.
