Intel and McAfee are reportedly planning to replace computer passwords with a new biometric authentication system.

According to PC World, McAfee software that will use biometric technology to authenticate users will be available for download by the end of the year, said Kirk Skaugen, senior vice president and general manager of the PC Client Group at Intel, last week.

Skaugen said that biometrics basically eliminates the need for a user to enter passwords for Windows log in and eventually all their websites ever again.

The biometric authentication system is not only safe for users, but also saves them the trouble of remembering passwords.
