For example, if you do that to the letter ‘A', you will get accents, tildes, and umlauts. All these can go a long way in enriching the messages that you send to your friends, family and colleagues. • Symbol variants

Like alphabets, you have a lot of different variants for your symbols too. Just hold on longer on a hyphen which will give you a lot of different kinds of symbol variants. Similarly, holding on to a full stop will bring an ellipsis. You can try the same techniques with other symbols such as commas, quotation marks, and question marks to prompt new symbols. And don't forget to try the same trick with 0 which will unlock the degree symbol to use it with angles and temperatures.

  • Swipe to text

iPhone users with iOS 13 and later have this 'swipe to text' feature. And if you are unaware of it, then this is the time to use it to do quick typing. It basically lets you swipe between letters instead of tapping them to turn you into a writing machine. To do so, make sure you are on Apple's default keyboard and not any other keyboard application. How to make use of it? Simply leave your finger on the keyboard and swipe between letters when you are typing. For example, when you are typing on an iPhone, just keep swiping your finger from ‘i' then ‘P' and other alphabets.

  • Customised text shortcuts

You can type fast with the iPhone's text replacement feature which allows you to enter abbreviations and it changes into whole phrases. For example, if you enter OMG then it will change it to 'Oh My God!' To do so, you will need to head towards your Settings, and then go to Keyboards in the general settings. Tap on Text Replacement, here tap on the + icon, and then enter the full phrase and shortcut. Save it at the end. You will now be able to use more shortcuts while typing.
