JioMeet video conferencing platform launched in India
Reliance Jio's video conferencing platform ‘JioMeet’ is now available to all users in India.
Reliance Jio today launched its new video conferencing platform ‘JioMeet’. Jio had announced the video platform in April during its Q4 results. JioMeet is now available for everyone.
Reliance JioMeet can be accessed on the web, and via its Android and iOS apps. There are JioMeet apps for Windows and Mac as well. The HD video conferencing app has been available in beta for some time. JioMeet supports up to 100 participants in one meeting. The video conferencing app also lets users schedule meetings, share screens and more.
To get started you need to download the JioMeet app from Google Play Store, App Store and Microsoft Store. You can also access JioMeet from its website. Next step is to log in with your email ID and password. There’s an option to enter as a guest as well or by using an OTP. If you login as a guest, JioMeet will ask for the name of the user and the meeting ID URL. If you’re using your email address to login then you’ll also get to see contacts that are on JioMeet and send invites for meetings directly.
JioMeet lets you send invites for meetings to anyone and they can join without having to download the application. It’s similar to what Zoom does where you don’t have to open a Zoom account to join meetings. JioMeet supports HD video calling and promises good quality even on low bandwidth. The company also said that meetings on JioMeet are encrypted and password protected.
JioMeet will compete with platforms like Zoom and Google Meet.
