Until now, only smartphones came with a sliding screens. But LG is stepping up its game by implementing the same tech on sliding doors. The South Korean company has partnered with Swedish manufacturer Assa Abloy Entrance Systems to come up with sliding doors with inbuilt OLED screens.  Needless to say, this product is not for end consumers but for businesses and can show the other side or even advertisements.

LG is not new to transparent screens. The firm that supplies smartphone display panels to Apple for iPhones, has already showcased rollable and transparent displays before. The firm has already announced that its transparent screens are already being used as windows in subway carriages in Beijing and Shenzhen in China and transparent screen TVs by Xiaomi and Panasonic also use LG's panel. So, watching this tech reaching real world is quite fascinating. May be next time when you visit a mall or your office building, you might just see a sliding door with transparent screen, showing ads.

However, it is not for sure when these transparent screen doors will be available for businesses, as mentioned by the Verge.

LG also seems to be working on rollable screen phones. The firm, which has already launched its rollable TV before, has a new rollable phone that appeared in South Korea's carrier intranet database. Although nothing is official for now, the listing definitely gives us a hope of seeing a rollable phone, possibly by next year.

This also falls in line with the previous rumours indicating that LG could launch such a device by June 2021. We may even see it demoing a similar tech at CES 2021, which will take place next month. The company, at last year's CES, showcased its rollable TV.
