Created in 2012 by Twitter's co-founders, Medium is now open to the general public and may be used by anyone with a Twitter account. The blogging platform's main selling point is that it aggregates content based on centers of interest.

Launched in 2012 by Evan Williams and Biz Stone, Medium brings together 'collections' of images and posts related to a given subject. The idea is to provide a space where users can go beyond Twitter's standard 140-character limit for a more in-depth exchange of ideas and content. Each element posted can be recommended, which makes it more visible to the wider community.
