Netflix is going to be free this weekend in India. Netflix StreamFest will be a two-day event on December 5 and 6 where anyone in India will be able to watch Netflix for free. Netflix is experimenting this for the first time, and it’s starting with India.

Netflix StreamFest is scheduled to start at 12:01 am on December 5, and it will end exactly at 11:59 pm on December 6. The entire catalogue of Netflix will be free for users in India this weekend. Netflix will allow one stream in standard definition, and only one user will be allowed to stream from one account. You will need to create a Netflix account for this, and you can do so through the browser or from its Android app.

Once you have a Netflix account you can stream movies, TV shows and documentaries from any device. Netflix StreamFest also has support for casting to bigger screens. There’s also an option to set a reminder for Netflix StreamFest by giving your email address or phone number.

During Netflix StreamFest you will also have access to all of Netflix’s features such as creating profiles, parental controls, creating lists, and even downloading movies and shows. To counter any possible surge in traffic which is very likely, Netflix will limit the number of people it allows to stream at the same time. In such cases, Netflix will alert you saying “StreamFest is at capacity.” You will then be notified when you will be able to start streaming again.

Netflix will be free for only two days so make sure you grab the opportunity to watch that movie or TV show you’ve been waiting for.
