NITI Aayog on Monday announced a partnership with the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart in order to launch a revamped version of the organisation's Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP).

To give you a quick brief, the idea of WEP was first mooted by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant who announced the setting-up of the platform in NITI Aayog at the conclusion of the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) held in Hyderabad in 2017. It's a unified access portal that brings together women from different parts of India to realise their entrepreneurial aspirations.

Now, the two organisations have revamped the Community homepage and login experience by making the login form more intuitive and accessible via Google and Facebook as well. The two organisations said that the new Community page will also be available in multiple regional languages allowing women to interact with fellow women entrepreneurs and mentors to communicate in their language of choice.

As far as the specifics are concerned, the Community page has been transformed into a QnA portal so that both knowledge seekers and knowledge providers can comfortably interact and engage. The revamped version of the Community page also includes an additional feature to offer mentorship to the women mentees with specific knowledge concerning a problem area through a dedicated online mechanism facilitated under FICCI-FLO's Empowering the Greater 50% mission.

Furthermore, knowledge seekers and contributors can gift badges to each other as a token of appreciation for solving their queries or being a consistent source of information and support on the platform.

“It is my hope that WEP will become a digital place for entrepreneurs to not only seek information and support but also help each other out. Serving as a forum for people's voices to be heard - helping inform policies and programs to better suit the needs and requirements of people," NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said on the occasion.

“The Women Entrepreneurship Platform plays a critical role in uplifting and empowering women-led businesses in their growth ambition and we are privileged to partner with NITI Aayog in enabling their journey to success,” Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy added.
