The launch of new phones by China's OnePlus is always a mega event and now web is abuzz with rumours that the smartphone maker is working on a mid-range smartphone that is being referred to by tech blogs as the OnePlus X or OnePlus Mini.

There have been multiple leaks regarding details of the device but reports suggest the phone will have mid-range specs and cost around $250 (16,500).

Gizmochina, which quoted "factory sources," provided details about the rumoured smartphone.

The report said the design of the OnePlus X has been tweaked to achieve a more premium look than the OnePlus 2. The phone will feature dual rear cameras, a fingerprint sensor at the back, a 5-inch screen and a Snapdragon 801 processor (same as the OnePlus One).

The report further said the OnePlus X might be launched in October.

OnePlus recently launched it's "flagship killer", the OnePlus 2, in India. The Hindustan Times review of the phone said, " With the 2, OnePlus has done it again by making a refined product that ticks off most, if not all, checkboxes for devices that cost twice as much."

The 64 GB version of OnePlus 2, with 4GB RAM, is priced at 24,999 and currently available on Amazon India. Users need an invite to get the new smartphone. It remains to be seen if OnePlus X too will use a similar system for selling its phones.
