Poco F1 India launch today: How to watch livestream, expected specifications, features

Poco by Xiaomi is a new sub-brand that focuses on delivering speed and superior hardware and software experience at affordable prices.

Xiaomi's Jai Mani earlier this month announced a new sub-brand called Poco by Xiaomi. The new sub-brand, akin to Huawei's Honor, will bring the top-end chipsets and RAM capacity at affordable prices.

The first phone from the sub-brand will be Poco F1 aka Pocophone F1. The launch event of Poco F1 will begin at 12:30pm in India. It will be livestreamed on Poco India's official YouTube page. One can also follow Poco India's social media pages for live updates.

"Poco is all about making a powerful smartphone with the technologies that truly matter. Recently it feels like the pace of innovation in the smartphone industry has slowed down, while prices are creeping up with flagship smartphones now past the $1000 mark. We set out to build something to buck this trend. For the first product, we got to basics and focus entirely on speed. Not just peak performance speed, but actual, real world speed," Jai Mani wrote in a Facebook post earlier this month.

Ahead of the official launch, Poco by Xiaomi has put up a few teasers on Twitter revealing a few key features. The company has already confirmed Poco F1 will feature Corning Gorilla Glass (the iteration not specified).

The phone camera will also have Artificial Intelligence smart recognition and HDR mode.

Poco F1 is said to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor and up to 8GB of RAM. Poco by Xiaomi is likely to target the affordable premium segment in India, which starts at ₹30,000. One can also expect a large battery in the new Xiaomi phone.
